Me with my Dad

PositiveHug was created by Michelle Summers, a transformational personal stylist, style coach and advocate for self-kindness, after experiencing firsthand how powerful the right words can be at the right time

Do you believe in moments that arrive exactly when you need them?

In the spring of 2023, life felt incredibly heavy. I was navigating the grief of losing my Dad and my little dog, Twirl, while also struggling in a work environment that no longer felt healthy or supportive. I felt overwhelmed, disconnected, and unsure of what the future held, like a light had quietly gone out.

One afternoon, I sat alone in my garden, letting the moment be what it was. And in that stillness, a quote I had read years earlier resurfaced in my mind, words that arrived gently, but powerfully, exactly when I needed them.

It reminded me how deeply words can matter.

That moment planted the seed for PositiveHug.

I began to wonder: what if more people had access to kind, positive, or reassuring words, not something they had to search for, but something they could stumble upon when they needed it most? Could a simple message spark comfort, courage, or even hope in someone’s day?

My Mission

PositiveHug was born from that question.

Our mission is simple: to create wearable reminders that help people feel supported, empowered, and a little less alone. To gently challenge negative self-talk. To spread self-love and social kindness in ways that feel natural, subtle, and real.

Each collection reflects different expressions of positivity, from calm simplicity to joyful colour, because no two people (or journeys) are the same.

PositiveHug is more than clothing.

It’s a reminder that you matter.

And that small acts of social kindness can ripple further than we ever see.

Me, my Son (aka Muffin) & little Twirl

My mental health is still something I care for daily, but I’ve made changes that have brought me closer to a life that feels aligned. I left that workplace, retrained as a personal stylist and coach, and finally stepped toward a dream I’d held for many years, helping women feel confident, empowered, and authentically themselves.

PositiveHug feels like part of that same calling.

It’s taken time, courage, and a leap of faith to bring it here, but it truly feels like it was meant to exist.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for wearing your PositiveHug.

And thank you for helping spread light, one gentle reminder at a time.

Love & Hugs,

Michelle, Muffin & the Dogs 🐾
