Me with my Dad

Do you believe in cosmic downloads?

In the spring of 2023, life felt incredibly heavy. I was struggling under the weight of a toxic work environment and the grief of losing two of the souls I loved so very much; my Dad and my little dog, Twirl (who both passed away in 2022).

I felt overwhelmed, alone, scared about the future and like a light had gone out. I was drowning.

As I sat quietly in my garden with tears streaming down my cheeks, a quote I had read years earlier resurfaced in my mind:

"Emotions are just temporary; suicide is forever"

Those words, which I'd read on a website years before were what I needed to hear that day.

And in that moment the idea for PositiveHug was born.

What if more people had a reminder of kind, positive or inspiring words at times when they needed them? Could a simple positive quote printed somewhere visible for people to see without searching for it, shift people's day for the positive? Could it spark a smile, a moment of needed reassurance, or even thoughts of courage or self love? Could it even save a life?

Our Mission

PositiveHug began as a light on a dark day, born from an unexpected and profound moment that proved to me just how powerful words can be.

We want to help people feel more positive, empowered, combat negative ‘self-talk’, feel supported and uplifted in the times they need it most.

Our collections celebrate every expression of positivity, from the bright energy of colour to the calm strength of simplicity. Each design is a little different, just as we all are.

Me, my Son (aka Muffin) & little Twirl

PositiveHug is more than clothing, it’s a reminder that YOU matter and that positive words & kindness can ripple far beyond what we see. When you wear your PositiveHug, you’re helping to spread light, hope, and positivity, one hug at a time.

My mental health is still a daily challenge, but I’ve left that workplace, taken a leap of faith and retrained as a personal stylist (something I've dreamed of doing for many years), so my good days now outweigh the bad.

That said, I feel there was no way the universe would forgive me if I hadn’t of brought PositiveHug into the world.

It's taken a few years to get to here, but here it is!

I feel that PositiveHug was simply destined to be.

Please join us in wearing your PositiveHug proudly!

Love & Hugs From,

Michelle, Muffin & the Dogs 🐾 😘
